INTRODUCTION
Jessie and her mother, Jane, are on their way back from a soccer game. While driving down the highway late at night, Jane takes a call from Jessie’s father to discuss dinner plans. Because Jane is distracted, she doesn’t notice the 18-wheeler that has come to a complete stop on the highway instead of pulling off onto the shoulder as is required. Further, the reason the 18-wheeler, driven by Jack, did not follow proper regulations and pull off was because he had been drinking.
