Abstract:
As part of a celebration of Jules Coleman’s book Risks and Wrongs (20 years since it was published) this paper discusses the reasons that Coleman gave for his abandonment, in that book, of what he calls the ‘annulment conception’ of corrective justice. I argue that, although he was right to abandon that conception, the reasons he offered for doing so were not adequate, and led him to abandon some good features of the annulment conception, and to keep some bad ones.
