ABSTRACT
Funeral homes operate with more liability exposure than most industries because funeral homes face expansive negligence liability, yet funeral directors are seldom educated about that risk. Typically, plaintiffs are barred from recovering for negligently caused emotional distress, absent accompanying physical harm; however, one exception is funeral home negligence.
