ABSTRACT
The NFT and the Metaverse are inherently linked to the element of authenticity; therefore, the most critical legal issues are related to intellectual property law. After defining the basic terminology briefly, this article tackles various questions regarding non-fungible tokens (NFTs) from the perspective of IP law, including the copyrightability of NFT projects, ownership rights of NFT purchasers, and the potential IP infringements in NFTs by giving examples of legal difficulties and jurisprudence. This study cannot comprehensively explain all intellectual property law issues in digital or analogue works of art but only provides an overview.
