ABSTRACT
An analysis of Usury laws and interest caps throughout history since the first regulations in the Torah, how they evolved, and how the current state of interest and debt is untenable. Further, this paper dives into Christianity’s outlook on usury specifically, and how it has abetted the changing societal attitude towards usurious interest rates. Conclusions are drawn as to how we as individuals, lawmakers, and Christians can seek to remedy this issue.
