INTRODUCTION
… This article argues in a first part that accessibility of the law being a salient component of a democratic system, it falls upon the English public authorities to devise an effective method for making the law more ‘intelligible, clear and predictable’. The second part of the article is a fresh attempt to demonstrate that codification plays a significant role in making more accessible to the community at large a law which, such as in England, has become increasingly bulky and prolix and, consequently, hard to find and to understand.
